The watermark, as shown below, offers the date on which the scene was captured, and where you will find the rest of the guidebook online. The image date helps a viewer correlate mountain conditions with a partcular time of year. Be mindful that every year is different, and conditions are always changing.
The image captions are limited by design and generally only contain the most prominent official terrain feature, and viewing spect(N,S,E,W), and occasionally other information. You will not find the local names of every mountain, chute, creek, or secret spot.
Not every photo is artisitic quality, if we've included a photo with glare or poor composition it's because the terrain content in the photo in our opinion outweighed the photographic shortcomings, occasionally a photo will get replaced with a better image of the same location.
We suggest printing these photos for use on your backcountry trips, laminate them. Use your iPhone or tablet to download them for offline viewing.
If you print the photos you can Sharpie them up with your own additional information, and experiences.
